Poor Management my have led to the listeria outbreak of Maple Leaf Foods of 2008. However the company management changed a possible negative impact to a positive one. Michael McCain CEO of Maple Leaf took responsibility for the listeria outbreak. Consumers were satisfied that Michael McCain took responsibility for the listeria outbreak and regained the company trust. As a consumer I think Michael McCain is very noble because he took responsibility for the outbreak and it makes me happy as a consumer. I'm happy because he has shown his loyalty towards his consumers of his products. I hope he inspires other managers to take responsibility towards their own actions.

Its safe to eat organics than Maple Leaf Foods
Maple Leafs Foods had recovered from the outbreak back in 2008 from the listeria crisis that caused Canadians from eating processed meat and how its effecting certain people from going to meat lovers to pure healthy organics lovers now. Many Canadians are obsessed with meat products like red meat, but after the outbreak many are trying to discover organic meat which is more healthy for all Canadian families. Michael McCain CEO of Maple Leaf Foods still remain proactive today but does it make consumers mind change from going to meat lovers to pure healthy organic lovers. In many cases many Canadians are purchasing freshly organic meat from Canadian farms instead going to nearby grocery store and purchasing process meat which contains different harmful chemicals, that Maple Leaf Foods went through after nearly half of Canadians died from the listeria disease back in 2008.

Food Safety in Canada
The Food safety in Ontario after the outbreak of listeria in the Maple Leaf Foods products, handled the crisis very differently were the CEO of Maple Leaf Foods Michael McCain said that it would demonstrate trust, transparency, credibility, and commitment after the listerioisis were linked to cold cuts produced at Maple Leaf's Toronto plant in August 2008. In many cases Ontario should be more concerned after the outbreak killed nearly half of Canadians across Ontario and other provinces. The majority of process foods is causing illnesses for food borne disease outbreaks in Canadian history. Majority of Maple Leafs strategies is to make good intentions back in January 2009 their was recall of tainted food. Maple Leaf Foods should take different strategies to regain its safety for its meat products and retain its positive customer support towards rebuild the trust of the consumers.
Do feel that Maple Leaf Foods should be more concerned about their meat products and the safety of the consumers?

Maple Leaf Foods- Rebounding From Tragedy
Sometime we look at major headlines that show us what's happening in the marketplace and how its impacting the world and economy. According to Dave Scholz vice president of Leger Marketing in Toronto has suggested that one company is poised to recover from negative publicity which is Maple Leafs Foods lnc. Part of the recovery is attributed to the way they brought back their production and handled the listeria crisis in 2008. If you look at Maple Leaf Foods its one of Canada's oldest and most identifiable food companies around Canada. In 2009 Marketing Leger Corporation Reputation Survey plummeted from 66 out of 100 to 8 out of 100. By January 2009 the score risen to 40 out of 100, in many cases the major components that have helped Maple Leaf Foods regain its customers support are trust, transparency, credibility, commitment, and honesty. Maple Leaf CEO Michael McCain took responsibility for the situation and remained proactive towards the crisis. The company took a major step by becoming an industry leader in food safety, also Maple Leaf Foods worked harder to rebuild the crumbling relation ship between itself and the public. The out break was damaging Maple Leaf with a $27 million dollar lawsuit, however Maple Leafs profit margin were decreased since the company used coupons and price discounting to regain its customers back. Michael McCain had told the media that this past year was without a doubt the worst year in history. In August 2008, McCain appeared on television ad to issue a candid and a heart felt apology to the people that have bought Maple Leaf products in the past year. The consumers feedback revealed that this strategy was successful and people appreciated the honesty and credibility of Michael McCain. However after this outbreak additional recalls and ongoing media reports on listeria will not help Maple Leaf rebuild its reputation back.
Do you find that after the outbreak in 2008 Maple Leaf Foods should now be more careful after what they went through that caused the listeria in the meat products?
